Good bye dear Brother, The hustle and bustle of you being called “Home” has now subsided and the silence is deafening with the voices; the voices in my mind as I hear the tongues and yet can’t comprehend yet am comforted. Remember when you and I experienced the speaking in tongues? I didn’t comprehend then, but feel the same comfort. When our parents died, I began to understand “Let go, let Jesus” In the years since you have taught me in deed and words that all of us on earth are not first bodies with souls. First, we are souls with bodies. As such, nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood as all will be revealed as it should. You heeded Isiah’s words when he wrote “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’ Perhaps, I can begin to comprehend the voices, now that yours is added to that choir. You have walked that path, and as Jesus taught us that the Angels carried Lazarus to Heaven, I know too that they carried you. What joy to know that you have seen the angel’s as they escorted you to God! As you have joined our families in heaven, continue their vigil watching over your family and your siblings, until the Angels escort each of us home to you.

R.I.P. Michael Peter Henkes. You Were Loved Upon the advent of our lives We are fragile We are but a tiny blink Of what is to come Like a flower, we begin to sprout, And stretch, and unfold If we are lucky we are loved By our parents, by our friends, By our spouse, children, & grandchildren As the days turn to years As we grow to adulthood Choices are made that set us on the trajectory to what will be our life Opportunities occur, passions are found, talents are discovered, friendships develop, and LOVE GROWS Time moves on Then comes a moment when things begin to fade The light upon you shines so brightly that a shadow is cast on your loved ones Any pain you’ve known now begins to ebb and you meet your Creator You were and continue to be...loved evermore!

My brother, a renaissance man gone too soon. Passionate about what he felt important, mostly his God, his family and his friends . Indifferent about vogue fads and views knowing well that they were ephemeral. A man who could tell you the scovil rating of the peppers you or he grew or the length of the great wall of China. "Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind". The death of a brother has a multiplier. Farewell dear soul till we meet again and continue the conversation.

Jesus said when He was on the cross, "Forgive them for they know not what they do" He also said if you forgive them their trespass, my Father will also forgive your trespass. Forgiveness heals and restores a soul to be set free from the cruelty of ugly words spoken against them. God is Love. True love is not ugly. I pray love and forgiveness upon the whole family Henkes and friends in the mighty name of Jesus.
