Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintMichael E. Batchelder, age 68 of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Hospice Alliance, Inc. /Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 20, 1949 in Hornell, NY, he was the son of the late Edwin J. Batchelder and Mary Louise (Harrison) Jones.
Michael proudly served his country as a Corporal in the US Marine Corps from May 1967 until his honorable discharge in October 1969. After his service, he moved from Painted Post, NY to Kenosha.
On August 30, 1969, in Kenosha, he married Patricia Tenuta.
His career began at Good Year Wire & Rope; then after 8 years he was employed with Snap-on as a machinist retiring in 2004 after 26 years.
A member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, he enjoyed softball, tennis, bowling, golf, playing cards and the Green Bay Packers.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Patricia; a daughter, Karen (Marco) Giese and a son, James (Kimberly) Batchelder; grandchildren, Anna, Natalie, Emily, Lily and Sophia; a sister, Faye Lynn (Steve) Kernan and a brother, Brian (Ginger) Batchelder along with a niece, Laura and nephews, Andy, Josh and Joshua.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin and step mother, Dorothy and his mother Mary Louise Jones.
Service Date June 28, 2018
Funeral Services honoring Michael’s life will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2224 45th Street, Kenosha, WI 53140. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery with full military honors.
