A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was born on April 18, 1957 and was the daughter of Gabriel J. and Joan (Reader) Savaglio. She attended local schools and received an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science with an Accounting Emphasis from Gateway Technical College.
She was employed as a server and bartender with Fireside Restaurant, The Place on weekends, Snap-On Tools as a warehouse worker, and at Ocenco in their accounting department.
Mary took a stand on her many beliefs and was very active with the recovery community. She liked to read, particularly crime novels; play home video bingo; and enjoyed dining out, almost exclusively for lobster. Mary was an excellent cook. In 2001, Kenosha News picked one of her recipes for publishing in their Recipe of the Week section. Mary had a special loved for her many cats, especially Iggy and Stinker. Above all, her greatest love was for her son, Markus. She was proud of his many accomplishments, recent marriage, and upcoming birth of her first grandson, for whom she had been collecting a wide assortment of children’s books, videos, and games since Markus’ engagement.
She is survived by her mother, Joan B. Savaglio; her son, Markus (Brittany) Savaglio of Darien, WI; and a grandson on the way.
Mary is further survived by her siblings: James Savaglio, Catherine Savaglio, Frank Savaglio, Rita (Allan) Silva, and Gabriel Savaglio; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gabriel Savaglio; a brother, Anthony Richard Savaglio; a sister, Jane Dolores Savaglio; her grandparents; and her cats, Iggy and Stinker.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at Heritage House in Racine, especially Rachel and Jenny, for the exceptional care they provided.
