Born on May 26, 1927 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Marie (Heller) Meyer. She was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School and received her BS Degree in Home-Economics and Education from UW-Madison in 1949 and was a member of the Theta Phi Alfa sorority.
On December 28, 1959 in St. Mary Catholic Church she married the love of her life Roger Terry. They had many years of happiness and companionship before Roger preceded her in death.
Mary Lou taught in the Black Earth, Hartford and Salem Central (Westosha) High Schools prior to the beginning of her family. After her children were raised she substitute taught at Westosha Central.
Her memberships extended outside of her prior home in Cedarburg back to her hometown. She was a member of Francis Borgia Catholic Church and the Ladies of the Lake Quilt Guild in Cedarburg and St. Mary Catholic Church and the Southport Quilt Guild in Kenosha. After Roger retired he and Mary Lou did extensive woodworking and traveled to various craft fairs throughout South East Wisconsin.
Left to remember and cherish their multifaceted mother, grandmother and sister are her four children, Anne (Bill) Conley of Mequon, WI, Peter (Maxine) Terry of Menomonie, WI, Jay (Kay) Terry of Racine, WI, Jeffrey (Lisa) Terry of Oak Creek, WI; six grandchildren, Nicole, Alex, Andrew, Emily, Matthew and Katie; and two sisters, Bernadette E. (Vern) Menden of Hales Corners, WI and Jane (Wally) Ebener of Kenosha.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Michael Terry, and two brothers, William and Theodore Meyer.
Service Date February 17, 2015
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7307 40th Avenue. Private interment will take place in St. James Cemetery.
