Marvin was born in Chicago, IL on July 13, 1935, the son of the late Eugene and Betty Norstrom. He graduated from Wilmot High School, was a gifted athlete, U.S. Army veteran and married his beloved Josephine on February 27, 1960.
Marvin retired from Commonwealth Edison as a certified electrician and was a devoted family man to his wife and children. He was an active community member and a faithful member of St. Therese Catholic Church.
He will be sadly missed by his fellow veterans that he met at the American Heroes’ Café, his work out family at the Rec Plex and all of his many contacts he made worldwide as he struck up conversations everywhere he traveled.
Along with his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by the love of his life, Josephine; his son Michael and his brothers, Gene and Gilbert.
He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his children, Jenny (Scott) Silbert of Maryland, Marvin Norstrom, Jr., of Lake Geneva, Tracy (Heidi) Norstrom of Salem and Randy (Lisa) Norstrom of Florida along with his grandchildren, Randy, Gabrielle, Henry, Katja, Sam, Luke and his great grandchild, Tanner.
Service Date April 17, 2018
Funeral Services honoring Marvin’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2020-91st Street. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery with full military honors.
