Marlene was born in Kenosha on June 8, 1937, the daughter of the late Erwin and Madeline (Werve) Dainko. She attended Saint Thomas Grade School, McKinley Junior High School, and Mary D. Bradford High School, graduating in 1955.
On October 25, 1958, Marlene was united in marriage to Robert Edward Krause. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage and raised one son, Steven Edward Krause. Marlene began her work life at Tenuta’s Delicatessen and was later the receptionist for Dr. John Klema and Dr. Don Heyden for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven; husband, Bob; his parents, Karl and Ottilie Krause; sister-in-law, Carol Tabili and her husband Thomas, and brother-in-law, Eugene Krause. Marlene is survived by sister-in-law, Jane Krause of Ann Arbor, Michigan; her and Gene’s sons and grandchildren, the children of the late Thomas and Carol Tabili and their grandchildren, and many cousins.
As a child, Marlene loved spending summers working on the family farm in Upper Michigan. Later, Marlene traveled extensively, both domestically and overseas, including numerous trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada, casinos with Bob or her girlfriends. Marlene was a trophy-winning league bowler for many years and enjoyed reading mysteries and Westerns and decorating her house for the holidays. Marlene was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, the Catholic Women’s Club, the Ladies of the Elks in Kenosha and Racine, and the Women of the Moose, Kenosha.

Funeral services honoring Marlene’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 1919 54th Street.
Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
A visitation for Marlene will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 10:45 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
