Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintMark E. Ladwig, age 68 of Racine died peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 under the care of Hospice Alliance/Hospice House.
Born in Kenosha on December 12, 1947, he was the son of the late Herbert and Ellanora (Freitag) Ladwig.
Mark received his Bachelor’s Degree in History from University of Wisconsin-Parkside. He also received two Associates Degrees from Gateway Technical College in Mechanical Design and Industrial Engineering.
He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged on April 10, 1974 as a Staff Sergeant.
On June 28, 1974 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Mich. Sadly, after 23 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on June 3, 1998.
Mark was employed as a technician with Titan, Inc. for many years. Previously, he was employed with J. I. Case.
He was an avid collector of model trains, coins and stamps. Mark had a special fondness for all types of rocks and minerals.
He is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth and Laura Ladwig; his brother, Al (Noreen) Ladwig and his aunt, Jan (John) Vagnoni.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Mary and Urban Mich, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.
Service Date July 30, 2016
A Memorial Service honoring Mark’s life will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. Full military honors will follow the Service. Private burial of Marks’s cremains will take place in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
