Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on August 22, 1954, Mark was the third son of LeRoy and Catherine (Goetter) Miller. He attended St. George Catholic School, Washington Junior High School and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. He completed courses at Gateway Technical College in machine repair.
Instilled by his parents, Mark was an extremely hard worker, always going above and beyond. He worked at American Motors, 20 years at MacWhyte Wire Rope and 19 years at Bombardier (BRP), retiring in 2018. While working at MacWhyte, he met the “firecracker” in his life, Gail (Wolf) Patterson. After 15 years together, they were married on October 28, 2000. Together they enjoyed riding on their Harley, fishing, camping and boating on the Chippewa Flowage. Sadly, Gail died on October 5, 2023.
Mark was a kind and compassionate man and always enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be truly missed.
Mark is survived by his mother, Catherine Miller; his sister, Jean Marie Miller, both of Kenosha; a brother, James Miller, of Florida; and his beloved cat, Puff. He is also survived by his dear friend, Lori Bourque and her family; special nephews, James and John Bielen; his mother-in-law, Betty Wolf, and numerous other nieces, nephews and in-laws.
In addition to his wife, Mark was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy; a brother, Curt; and his father-in-law, Gil Wolf.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Bandealy and Dr. Elson, of the Aurora Cancer Center, and their respective staffs, for the encouraging support given to Mark during his treatment. Mark considered all of them his “angels”.
