Born on December 25, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Victoria (Pint) Meier. She attended St. Mark Catholic School and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1962.
On June 27, 1964, at St. Mark Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Lawrence L. Jarvey, who preceded her in death on August 20, 2013.
Margaret was a proud member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Kenosha. She sang in the choir for many years and spent several summers volunteering in the cream puff booth at the annual Church Festival with her good friends Margie and Barb, among many others.
As a young woman, Marge worked in the office at American Motors Corporation in Kenosha. Later, for over 20 years, she was a childcare provider, and she always cherished the opportunity to be a part of so many families.
Singing was one of Marge’s earliest and strongest passions. As a youth, she sang in musicals and competitions, and she was an active member of church choirs at St. Mark, Mt. Carmel and St. James for nearly seven combined decades. Even as she experienced health struggles, her singing voice remained vibrant and beautiful through the end.
She also took great pride in raising her three children, entertaining, decorating her home and cooking her numerous cherished family recipes. A Christmas baby, she could rarely be found off her feet during the holiday season, whether she was hosting, cooking meals, baking cookies or singing at midnight mass.
Some of Margaret’s other passions included painting ceramics and selling them at local craft fairs, watching classic movies, and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. She loved taking trips to the casino, especially with her husband and her close friend, Alice.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Shaw (Michael) Wojciechowski, Victoria (Richard Jr.) Maksen, and Andrew (Amanda) Jarvey; and her grandchildren, Lauren Maksen, Spencer Shaw, Samuel Shaw, Richard Maksen III, Jacob Shaw, Ryan Bell, James Jarvey, Margaret Jarvey, and BrookLynn Jarvey.
Along with her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Patricia Guarascio, and her cousin and best friend, Alice Anderson.
