Born on May 3, 1921, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Julia (Bonk) Orth. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she attended St. George grade school and Kenosha High School.
On November 30, 1946, in St. George Catholic Church, Margaret was united in marriage to John Gadwell. They were blessed with two children and 56 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on April 7, 2003.
For almost 25 years, Margaret worked for Dr.’s Davis, Wilson, Young and Foster. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and found the love of her family to be her greatest joy.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Thomas J. Gadwell; a daughter, Linda (William) Knudsen; a brother, Don (“Ellie”) Orth; her sister, Eileen Carls; three granddaughters, Jodi (Joseph) Kelleher, Susan Rondeau and Michelle (Christopher) Kalfa and six great grandchildren. Margaret is further survived by a sister-in-law, Charlotte Orth and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Wawiorka and Dorothy Sadowski and two brothers, Harry and Robert Orth.
Service Date August 1, 2015
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4817-7th Avenue. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for Mass. Private interment will be held in St. George Cemetery.
