Born in Paris Township on September 28, 1916, she was one of eleven children born to the late Michael and Catherine (Terry) Frederick. She attended St. John the Baptist Parish Elementary School and was a graduate of Union Grove High School where she was Salutatorian of her graduating class.
On June 12, 1948, she was married to John Gombar. He preceded her in death in November of 1994.
Prior to her marriage, Louise was employed with Snap-On Tools; she then devoted her time to her family and church.
Louise enjoyed traveling with her husband after his retirement. She frequently enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. Louise developed an interest in basketball when her grandson Kyle played for Augustana College.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne (Barry) Nelson; her grandson, Kyle Nelson; and her sister, Antoinette (Toni) Fox. Louise is further survived by her daughter-in-law, Linda Duychak and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, John, she was preceded in death by her son, Thomas and her daughter, Veronica.
Service Date March 5, 2016
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7400 Block of 39th Avenue. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Paris Township.
