Born on October 11, 1930, in Robstown, TX, she was the daughter of the late Santiago and Dominga Villarreal.
On July 6, 1956, Louisa was united in marriage to Felix Guerra at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Racine. They were blessed with six children and almost 30 years of marriage before he passed away on July 4, 1986.
While raising her children, Louisa was employed part-time with Woolworth’s. Once her children entered school, she was employed part-time with St. Catherine’s Hospital and in 1978, began her career with Ladish/Tri-Clover, retiring in 1998.
Louisa was a member of the former St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and a current member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
She will be remembered as a kind, sweet and loveable person; a social creature of habit, she met friends wherever she went. Louisa loved to learn and was bilingual, sending cards to family and friends for every holiday in both English and Spanish. She had an amazing eye for interior decorating, was an accomplished seamstress, an amazing cook and loved to bake. Louisa also enjoyed traveling, flower gardening and was known to close down the dance floor. Family was her first priority, and she cherished the weekend family get-togethers; sharing lots of food and many laughs.
Louisa will be deeply missed by her six children, Felix (Jan) Guerra, Jr., Catherine Guerra, Russell (Soila) Guerra, Susan (Matthew) Matoska, Margaret (Alan) Westermeyer and Felicia (Willie) Banks; a sister, Carolyn Villarreal; 14 grandchildren, Michael, Eric, Chelaine, Nicole, Stacey, Gino, Vincent, Ashley, Brittnee, Rachael, Cristian, Thomas, Andrew and Lena and her adorable great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary and a brother, Jimmie.
Louisa’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Azura Memory Care and the entire staff of Grace Hospice for their care and kindness over the years.
