He was born January 7, 1951 in Kenosha to the late Louis V., Sr. and Virginia (Tutlewski) DeFord. He attended local schools.
Louie honorably served our county in the United States Marine Corps. Later he served in the National Guard and Army Reserve; retiring with a total service of 23 years.
On November 30, 1996, he was united in marriage to Karen Jerome.
For many years, Louie was employed by AMC/Chrysler Corporation until his retirement.
Louie was a member of the Danish Brotherhood and a recent member of the Apostolic Faith Church. He loved his German Shorthair dogs, along with hunting and fishing. He enjoyed traveling; especially to Northern Wisconsin and lived in Park Falls for many years. He was loved by all and his sense of humor will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; his children, Danielle (Paul) Rasmussen of Kenosha, David (Heather) Jenson of Kenosha and Marcia (Brian) Eddy of Neillsville, WI; eight grandchildren, Gabriel and Sophia Aguilar, Isabelle, Avery and Landon Jenson, Hunter and Logan Yanel and AnnaMarie Eddy; three brothers, Arthur, Allen (Candy) and Lonnie DeFord; a sister, Bonnie (Jason) McClay; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Service Date February 27, 2018
Funeral Services honoring Louie’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue, Kenosha, WI. Interment will follow in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full military honors
