Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintLorna “Lori” (Britten) Vidas, age 86 of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2018 at Brookside Care Center.
She was born in Chippewa Falls, WI on July 29, 1931, the daughter of the late Albian and Wilhemina Britten. After graduating from high school and working for two years, she married Duane Sorenson in 1950; they had five children and later divorced.
Lori worked for the city of Kenosha for 25 years and was the secretary for the Kenosha, Chief of Police and retired in 1991. Lori was an excellent cook and created many recipes during her lifetime.
In November 1973, she was married to Robert J. Vidas until his passing in November 2017. Together they owned and operated a very successful King Vidas realty business. She was very outgoing and loved to meet new people. She maintained friendships with former real estate clients and colleagues. She also loved to tell clean jokes.
She loved playing cards, reading the newspaper, boating, dancing, going for walks and she was very good at solving Wheel of Fortune word games. Lori dedicated herself to her family and she was always available to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lori will always be loved and remembered by her children, Lynnette Hoff, Terry (Mary) Sorenson, Scott (Barb Wells) Sorenson, Michael (Taehee Kim) Sorenson and Karen (Larry Swartz) Sorenson; siblings, 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, friends and neighbors.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Edith Berg and Vera Ulrich.
Service Date January 25, 2018
Funeral Services honoring both Bob and Lori will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church, 2001 80th Street. Private interment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
