He was born on March 31, 1943 at Ishpeming Hospital in Ishpeming, MI, to the late Lawrence “Poncho” and Irene (Mager) Elvetici.
He came to Kenosha with the Verville family when he was 18 years old. He worked on a farm and then at American Motors for a short time. He then worked for Servomation in Racine for over 25 years, then Triple M Vending and Frost Company.
On June 7, 1974, Larry was united in marriage to Maryanne (Madsen) LaFond..
For many years Larry enjoyed golfing every weekend from April through October and going to the dog track with friends. He and Maryanne enjoyed going to different casinos, especially in Michigan where they visited with Larry’s family.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Maryanne; his son, Ron (Rose) LaFond; his two grandchildren, Morghan and Cade LaFond; his step grandchildren, Jay, Andrew, Hannah (Josh) and Colin. He is also survived by his children from his first marriage, Lyn, Barbara and Steven along with many grandchildren, nieces and nephews of Kenosha, Michigan and Virginia; his sisters-in-law, Nancy Elvetici of Virginia and Candace Plankey of Michigan and his brother, John of Michigan.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Renee LaFond; his brothers, Dick, George and Ron and his best friend, David Verville.
Memorial services honoring the life of Lawrence will be held privately.
