Born on September 30, 1939, in Hillsboro, WI, he was the son of the late John and Ella (Nelson) Delaney. He was raised on the family farm in Elroy, WI and attended Elroy High School.
On August 31, 1963, in Pleasant Prairie, Larry was united in marriage to Darlene Miller.
Union proud, Union strong; he was a gravel truck driver, retiring from the Teamsters Union after 32 years.
He was a member of the International Teamsters Union Local #301. For years, he was active in local pool leagues, loved taking casino trips to play the slots and was a die-hard George Jones fan.
Larry will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years, Darlene; their two sons, Lee and Steven Delaney; a brother, Richard (Charlotte) Delaney; many nieces and nephews and also survived by his faithful canine companion, Hugo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, John, Lyle, Donald, Wallace, Clayton and Wayne Delaney; his mother-in-law, Maxine Miller and waiting with great obedience will be his two dogs, Krisie and Scooter.
Service Date March 13, 2017
A memorial gathering honoring the life of Larry will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017, at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, WI, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Private inurnment will be held.
