Born on June 5, 1924, in Duluth, MN, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Pearl (Plankey) Jarvis. Educated in Minnesota, she came to Kenosha in December of 1942.
On June 15, 1946, she was united in marriage to Harry J. Shaltes at St. Peter Catholic Church. Sadly, he preceded her in death on December 31, 1998.
June was employed as a secretary for Eaton-Dynamatic and later for Kenosha Unified School District, retiring in 1965.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the St. Peter’s Women’s League. June was a dedicated Chicago Cub fan and also enjoyed reading, completing jigsaw puzzles, gambling and traveling. Her love of family and gambling took them on many trips to Las Vegas where her VIP status awarded her the same room at the Stardust Hotel and even had a suite named after her at the Great Wolf Lodge in the Wisconsin Dells.
June is survived by her daughter, Nancy (James) Herolt; her four grandchildren, Patrick (Debra) Herolt, Christopher (Nicole) Herolt, Stacey (Bart) Polaski and Daniel Herolt and 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Regnery, Audrey Anderson and Elaine Jurgens and two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Jarvis.
June’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of HCR Manor Care for the exceptional care given to June over the years.
