Born in Kenosha on July 15, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Nestor and Edris (Landry) Helman. Joyce attended St. James Catholic Grade School and graduated from Kenosha High School.
On August 28, 1948 at St. James Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Lawrence B. Beam. They were blessed with four children and 52 years together until his death in 2000.
Joyce was a loving homemaker for her family. In her younger years, she was an avid swimmer and enjoyed the challenge of swimming in Lake Michigan. She was talented with her knitting and sewing along with creating ceramics at the Senior Center in Bristol.
Joyce is survived by her children, Mike (Doris) Beam of FL, Jeff (Ann) Beam of Wheatland, Steve ( Gail) Beam of MO and Terry ( Jeff) Borndahl of Paddock Lake; her 13 grandchildren, Chris (Grace) Beam, Jason (Erin) Beam, Kristy (Kiran) Achar, Jody Beam-Braune, Hoss ( Mary) Jager, Colt (Rachael Stollings) Jager, Buck (Amber McClure) Jager, Fred (Michelle) Beam, Alex (Sarah) Rupp, Ashley Rupp, Nicole (Dave) Casper, Benjamin and Matthew Borndahl , 6 great grandchildren along with her sister, Joan Deming of Venice, FL.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Don Helman.
Service Date March 12, 2015
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 9091 Prairie Ridge Blvd. Private inurnment will take place in Green Ridge Cemetery.
