Born on September 4, 1936 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Walter and Mary Jeanette (Campbell) Wassinger.
On November 20, 1954, Joy was united in marriage to George Wilson in Chicago. In 1962, they moved to Kenosha, where they raised their five beloved children.
Joy was a movie buff and enjoyed golfing, tennis, bowling, reading, traveling and most of all spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bruce (Kathy) Wilson of Kenosha, WI, Michael (Wendy) Wilson of Spring, TX, Wendy (Tony) Apostoli of Kenosha, WI, Ken (Pamela) Wilson of Racine, WI; her daughter-in-law, Debra Wilson of Seattle, WA; her grandchildren, Crystal Wilson, Heather (Wilson) Nighbor, Derek Apostoli, Daniel Apostoli, Gabrielle (Apostoli) Orth, Giana Apostoli, Adam Wilson; her great-grandchildren, Avery Nighbor, Everett Nighbor, Harper Nighbor, Isla Orth; her sister, Diane Collins.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Jeanette; her husband, George; her son, Jeff Wilson, her sister, Marlene Michals; her brother, Arnold Harrington.
The family would like to thank the hospice staff for their kind and loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in honor of Joy’s life may be made to Hospice Alliance Inc./Hospice House, 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158.
A memorial in celebration of Joy’s life will be held at a later date.
