Born in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on February 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Esteban and Felicidad (Parpana) Batac. She was a graduate of Tagudin High School and the National University Finishing School in Manila. Josephine moved here from the Philippines in 1981 and she attended the College of Lake County where she received her certified nursing degree.
She was united in marriage to Wade Wilson in 2006. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2009.
Throughout her life, she was a devote Roman Catholic.
Josephine was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Abbott House in Highland Park until her retirement in 1994. After her retirement, Josephine and her husband moved to California. In 2008, they moved back to our area and Josephine lived on her own until five years ago.
She is survived by her four children, Evangeline Catungal of Volo, IL, Raul (Gertrude) Catungal, Sr. of Hawaii, Frederick “Erick” (Susan) Catungal of Waukegan and Ferdinand “Peter” Ladewig of Germany; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Wade, she was preceded in death by a brother, Constanco Batac; and her sister, Monteflora Lamadrid.

SERVICE LOCATION Piasecki Funeral Home
Funeral services honoring Josephine’s life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Piasecki Funeral Home. A visitation for Josephine will be held on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
