Joe was born in Kenosha on November 29, 1932 a son of the late Joseph W. and Mary (Lacika) Kavalauskas, Sr.
He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army from 1952 until his discharge in 1954.
On June 4, 1955 in Racine, he was united in marriage to Donna J. Hamers. Sadly, she preceded him in death on November 16, 2010.
Joe was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and Kenosha Moose Lodge #286. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cribbage in his free time. He will forever be remembered as a quiet, gentle, and generous spirit.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his four children, Mary Jo Sanchez, Tom (Wendy) Kavalauskas, Sharon (Mark) Molinaro, and Paul (Connie) Kavalauskas; eight grandchildren, Damon (Stephanie) Sanchez, Janna (Hudson) Murphy, Darius (Meghan) Sanchez, Jared (Janice) Sanchez, Brittany (Noah) Trimmer, Andrew (Annie) Kavalauskas, and Kyle and Justin Kavalauskas. Joe is further survived by thirteen great grandchildren and his brother and sister, Steve (Diane) Kavalauskas and Mary Ann Fried.
In addition to his wife and parents, Joe was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Allan Kavalauskas.
Joseph’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hospice Alliance, Inc. for all of the love and support they provided to their loving father and grandfather during his illness.
Service Date September 23, 2016
Funeral Services honoring the life of Joseph will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. Interment with full military honors will follow at St. George Cemetery.
