Born in Waukegan, IL on January 11, 1938, he was the son of the late Harold and Eileen (Jones) Littner. He was a graduate of Zion Benton High School.
On September 13, 1975 at York House Methodist Church, Waukegan, IL he was united in marriage to Diana Harper. 25 years ago, John and Diana moved to Bristol, WI.
For 23 years, John was employed as a truck driver for Herky’s Trucking, retiring in 1997.
Beginning as a youth and throughout his life, he attended York House Methodist Church in Waukegan where he was a member of the Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) which he attributed to keeping him on the straight and narrow. He was a former member of the Illinois Teamsters Local 301. John was an active member of “Love Forty” Tennis Club in Waukegan and the Southeast Wisconsin Corvette Club. He enjoyed taking his 1970 Corvette out for a spin, bicycling, hiking, bird and critter watching, as well as watching the Chicago Bears. John’s largest passion in life was the love of his family, friends and his faithful canine companion, Hayley whom he loved and spoiled very much.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Diana; his two children, Kathy Krieg and Mark (Kristin) Littner; his two grandchildren, Jamie (Keith) Barrett and Joseph Krieg; his great grandson, Parker Barett ; his three brothers, Tom, Jim (Nancy) and Bob (Sandie) Littner; many loving nieces and nephews; and many, many wonderful friends.
