I have fond memories of Mr. Fountain from my high school days at Cowan High School in Muncie, Indiana. He was my teacher for Health in 7th grade and coached, served as athletic director and assistant principal. He was a good teacher, fair, caring, funny, and pretty much the heart and soul of our school. Mr.Fountain also shared in our 1976 celebration of winning the Muncie Basketball Tournament which was very unexpected. Our school was blessed to have his leadership as well as a very good role model for all of us at Cowan. My condolences to his family. May God comfort you in your time of great loss of a much loved and respected man that we were blessed to have in our lives.

We were so sad to hear the passing of JD. He was an awesome principal at Grewenow. The nicest person you wanted to know. Every time we would see him, even on vacation in Florida, he always asked about our girls by name. He was an asset to KUSD and Kenosha. He will be sadly missed. Our deepest sympathy to Susie, Libby and family. In our thoughts and prayers. Mike and Carol Peratt

I am very sorry to hear this sad news. My deepest sympathies to Susie and the family. I played basketball for coach Fountain in the late 1960's in Indiana. Coach, you believed in me at a time when I really needed it. You made a difference in my life. Thanks for everything. Rest in peace.

So sad to hear of Mr. Fountain’s passing. He was a great Asst. Principal when I was at Lincoln ~ always joking around with the students and proudly wearing his bumblebee suit for staff basketball games. I’m thankful to have known him as he invited me to touch base with him when I graduated from college. It was Mr. Fountain who opened the door for me getting hired in KUSD. For that I will always be grateful! Great person who, sadly, will be missed ~ thoughts and prayers to the Fountain family.
