Born on December 3, 1938, she was the daughter of the late George and Violet (Belongia) Zura. She was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.
On June 19, 1976, she was united in marriage to Harold Behringer. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2010.
She was employed with Ocean Spray, until her retirement.
Joan was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed making and painting porcelain, ceramics and loved to crochet, knit and counter cross stitch. In addition, Joan owned her own shop which was situated in the basement of her home.
She is survived by her daughter, Courtney Richardson; stepdaughter, Sherri (Tim) Behringer-Schorr; grandson, Ethan Thomas; great grandchildren, Jaylen Wheaton and Jeniya and Angel Richardson.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold; brother, Eddie and sister, Georgette.
Memorial services honoring Joan’s life will be held privately.
