Born in Kenosha, WI on July 13, 1936, to the late Leo and Josephine (Kraak) Murawski, Jr. She attended local schools and graduated from Bradford High School.
On May 4, 1957, at St. James Catholic Church, Joan married Chester Minkowski, Jr.
For over 30 years, Joan was employed by the Kenosha Unified School District.
She was a member of the Kenosha Mothers of Twins, a volunteer with the Barracuda Swim Team and the Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed swimming, bowling, flower arranging making crafts and participating in craft shows. Joan loved the Chicago Cubs, but most of all spending time with family.
Joan will be greatly missed by her children, Chester C. “Chuck” (Tami) Minkowski of Florida, Debra (Brian) Welcher of Missouri, Carol (Bob) Gelden of Kenosha and her twins, Theresa (Todd) Puckett of Kenosha and Sharon Wynn of Kenosha; her grandchildren, Jennifer Ouweneel, Andy Gelden, Adam and Amanda Puckett, Rebecca and Casey Wynne, David and Joshua Minkowski; her great grandchildren, Logan Minkowski, Aviana and Donovan Gelden, Olivia, Alex and Ella Ouweneel and Abigail Puckett; her sister, Judith Peterson and her sister-in-law, Lorraine Murawski.
Along with her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; brother Leo F. “Butch” Murawski, Jr., and her brother-in-law, Garold Peterson.

A visitation for Joan will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 4: 00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the Wounded Warrior Project https://woundedwarriorproject.org would be appreciated.
Joan asked that everyone dress casual or wear your favorite Cubs shirt.
