Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintJessie C. Capps, age 88 of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Hospice Alliance, Inc./Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, with his family at his side.
Born in Nettleton, MS on July 25, 1929, he was the son of the late James W. and Mittie M. (Chandler) Capps.
Jessie honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On December 20, 1952, he was united in marriage to Beulah Bridgewater. After 48 years of marriage, Beulah preceded him in death on September 23, 2001.
Jessie was employed with AMC/Chrysler as a painter, retiring after 33 years of service.
He was a former member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. He found great joy fishing, hunting and being with his family.
Jessie is survived by his daughter, Sandra Capps of Kenosha; step-daughter, Bonnie (nee: Bowman) Gathings of Pleasant Prairie; his grandchildren, Debbie (nee: Gathings) Otterness of Oakland, AR and Holly (nee: Gathings) Siewert of Racine; four great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Sue Dullum and Geraldine Galloway, both of Aberdeen, MS.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by seven brothers; one sister; and a great-great-granddaughter, Kenzie Smith.
Service Date December 1, 2017
Funeral Services honoring Jessie’s life will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave. Kenosha,WI. Interment with full military honors will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery.
