Jerry was born on September 10, 1941, to Albert “Ernie” and Maybelle (Raitz) Stephenson in Eau Galle, WI. He spent his childhood in Eau Galle, moving to Kenosha as a young child. He worked as a painter for Ruffalo Decorating, Potente Painters and loved his work as a painter in churches-signing his name in every church he worked at.
Jerry had a passion for hunting, fishing and foraging for mushrooms. He enjoyed making homemade sausage and pickles; even smoking jerky. Jerry’s enjoyment of gambling paid off when he and Susan won a Buick at the Racine County Fair.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Susan; children, Roxane (James) Kislia and Scott Stephenson; Lisa Pollard; grandchildren, Kimmy (Dustin) Soto, Jason (Clara) Horton, Sharon Kislia, Ryan Stephenson, Kyle Stephenson, and Suzanne (Rogelio) Castro; great grandchildren, Tommy R. Gawloski; Rogelio (JJ) Castro, Arjana Soto, Avah Soto, Alexander Castro, and Valentino Castro. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Stephenson; as well as his first wife, Sharon Stephenson; son, Tom Gawloski and brothers, Fleming Stephenson, Hank Wood, Jimmy Wood and Marvin Wood.

A gathering of relatives and friends honoring Jerry’s life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 3:30 pm until the time of the service at 5:30 pm at the Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave, Kenosha, WI.
