Born on September 13, 1937 at St. Catherine’s Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Milton J. and Gladys (Klaske) Hoey.
As a teenager, Janice worked at St. Catherine’s Hospital under Sister Colette. Three of her four sons and a grandson were also born there. In January of 2014, when she became ill, her experience with the caring staff at both locations was delightful beginning with her birth, up until her death.
Janice had a special bond with her son, Joey. They spent a lot of time together and she was grateful for the selfless care he showed her.
She is survived by her four children, John Michael, Jeff, Jill and Joseph; her sister, Marilyn and her family, Ray and Lynn; five grandchildren, Joseph, Patrick, Madisyn, Sam and Rocco and two great grandchildren, Guinevere and Jayden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Matthew.
Service Date January 16, 2015
A Memorial Mass for Janice will be celebrated on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 5804 Sheridan Road. Private inurnment will be held in St. James Cemetery.
