Born on December 13, 1940 in St. Paul, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late John and Eileen (Peck) Weinmann.
On May 19, 1960 in Mason City, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Robert Cummings. They were blessed with 58 years of marriage.
Janet was a homemaker for her family and also worked at Holleb’s; helping brides look amazing with the perfect gown.
A member of St. Mary Catholic Church, she was a caring, understanding, supportive woman who was also strong willed and had the best laugh. Janet was always very active enjoying square dancing, bowling, playing horseshoes, traveling and trying her luck at the casinos. She was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert; her children, Cindy (John) Schlater, Christina (Vern) Rawlins, Deanna (Dave) Murton and Victoria (fiancé, Arthur B. Owen) Cummings; grandchildren, Robin (Jessica) Briese, John Schlater, Chris Schlater, Kevin Schlater, Charlene (Leo) Clune, Kayleen (David) Joneikis, Robbie Coffman, Ryan Murton, Elaina Froh and Nolan Froh. Janet is further survived by her siblings, Elaine (Larry) Kohn, Robert (Mitz) Weinmann, Gerald (Barb) Weinmann, Charles (Lane) Weinmann, Victoria (Bob) Knoth and sister in law, Jet Weinmann.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Kelly in infancy; a sister, Susan Weber and a brother John “Jack’ Weinmann.
Service Date February 28, 2019
Funeral services honoring Janet’s life will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7400 39th Avenue. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass. Interment will follow in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
