Born in Moszczenica Gorlica, Poland on July 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Amalia (Wiktor) Dobek.
On August 24, 1946 at Our Lady Queen of the Angels Catholic Church in Detroit, MI, she was united in marriage to Andrew Szewczyk. They moved to Kenosha making it their home in 2004. Andrew preceded her in death on August 13, 2005.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Kenosha, WI.
Jane had a strong faith in God, worshipping Him daily at Mass and said countless daily rosaries for all of her family.
Jane enjoyed crocheting, sewing, traveling and going to casinos. Above all, she loved to be with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Dwight Richards) Szewczyk; her grandchildren, Erik, Mark, David, Daniel, Amanda, Jackie, and Amy (Matt); her great grandchildren, Kaden, Liam, Amelia and Emma Jane; her daughters-in-law, Janet and Donna Szewczyk; her sister-in-law, Marianne Dobek; and her nephews, Mark and Mick Dobek.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Szewczyk; her sons, Andy, David, Daniel and James Szewczyk; her brother, Melvin Dobek; her nephew, Matt Dobek; and her special friend, Don Guilbeault.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Knight Dr. Kevin Khater and staffs, Froedtert South-St. Catherine’s Hospital Radiation Department and Season’s Hospice for their compassionate and loving care. They would also like to thank Jane’s best friends, Dwight Richards, Sunny Nelson, Marianne Kraus and Liz Caridei for the love and support they provided. You will all hold a special place in their heart.
Service Date September 29, 2018
Memorial Services honoring Jane’s life will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2224 30th Ave., Kenosha, WI. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
