Jim was born in Waukegan, IL, on March 14, 1942; the son of the late Arthur and Anna (Forst) Waehner. He graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School, class of 1960.
On February 8, 1964, he married the love of his life, Mitzi Cox, at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Jim retired from the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier after 35 years of service. He was an active member of the local branch of the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Jim cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Samantha and Zachary, whom he adored. He enjoyed friendships with the “Animals”, his trips to Vegas and following his favorite sports teams, the Cubs, Packers and Blackhawks.
Jim is survived by his three daughters, Kristin (Jim) Harrington, Anne (Michael) Baniel, and Carrie (Dave) Rebro; grandchildren, Samantha and Zachary Baniel and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mitzi, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Ken Waehner and his sister, Pat Schreiber.
