Born on June 6, 1944 Carp River, MI, he was the son of the late George and Gladys (Alkire) McKenzie. He attended schools in Northern Michigan.
James proudly served his country from 1963 until his honorable discharge from the US Army in 1966. He then made Kenosha his home.
He was employed with Exel Logistics as a fork lift operator until his retirement in 2010.
In his younger years, James enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
James is survived by his sons, David and James McKenzie; his siblings, Tony McKenzie, John (Karen) McKenzie, Glenn McKenzie, Margaret Odell and Patsy (Tom) Soeltner and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by a brother, Richard McKenzie and a sister, June French.
In accordance with James’ wishes, no funeral services will be held.
