Jackie was born on June 19, 1943, in Madison, the first child of Delphine Margaret (Dederich) and Frank Wesley Kaminski. For most of her youth, she lived in Lake Delton, WI with her six siblings and parents. In her later years, Jackie resided with her daughter, Andrea and her family.
She graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 1960 and eventually earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University in Michigan.
Jackie dedicated her life to providing care and comfort for as many people as she could reach. She spent the majority of her career as a counselor for several organizations in Western Michigan, most notably a local shelter that provides support for victims of spousal abuse. Later in life, Jackie enjoyed working for the family business in Wisconsin. She spoke often of how happy she was spending time with her mother, sisters, and brother working at the family grocery store.
While living in Wisconsin, Jackie was active at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church, she dedicated her time to several local charities, and enjoyed reading, knitting, and camping. She also loved spending time visiting friends and family around the country.
Jackie is beloved by her family and friends. She demonstrated a special understanding of the feelings and struggles of others. She was patient, generous and, at all times, considerate. She was intelligent and perceptive; but above all, she was tolerant and loving—not just of her own family but of others. Jackie’s warmth, affection and compassion made many lives brighter and she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children, David Gerald (Lisa Nawyn) Hoerig, Boulder, CO, Andrea Jeanne (Anthony) Beer, Pleasant Prairie, WI and Paul Ronald (Patty) Hoerig, Winston-Salem, NC. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Taylor Margaret Beer, Paul Thane Hoerig, and Amelia Delphine Hoerig; her siblings, Faye (Jack) Stark, Frank Kaminski, Connie (Jim) Delmore, Teresa Regel, Jan (Gene Sande) Woodruff and Susan (Charles) Davis; as well as, several nieces and nephews.
