A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was born on December 19, 1944 and was the son of the late Reinhard and Elizabeth (Peterson) Uttech. Jack graduated from Salem Central High School in 1963.
From August 11, 1965 until his honorable discharge on August 10, 1967, he proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
On May 2, 1970, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Willkomm.
Jack was employed as a Welder with AMC/Chrysler Corporation for 37 years, retiring in 2000.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and U.A.W. Local #72 Retirees.
There was nothing Jack couldn’t do. He was known as a “Jack of all trades”. He enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting up north and was a vegetable garden fanatic. Jack’s crops were large enough to feed the “entire town,” which he loved to share.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathleen Uttech; his two children, Karen Mueller and Kevin (Nicole) Uttech; his four grandchildren, Masen and Alivia Uttech and Lucy and Lily Mueller; his sister, Nancy Tenwinkel; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Jack is further survived by his many in-laws, Betty and Frank Delfield, Jerry and Cathy Willkomm, John and Penny Willkomm, Rose and Ron Struthers, Linda Langenstroer, Phyllis and Tom Rasmussen, Dan Willkomm, Ron and Lisa Willkomm, Patty Slobodianuk, Barbara and Richie Heuser and Mary and Bob Johnson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Edna Willkomm; two brothers, Bob (Pat) Uttech and Chuck Uttech; and his brothers-in-law, Chuck Tenwinkel, Hans Langenstroer and Mark Slobodianuk.
