Born on June 29, 1959, in Kenosha, he was the son of Mary Ann Brannon (Christensen) and the late Dominic Perone Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha, where he attended local schools, wrestling at Mary D. Bradford High School then at UW-Parkside. Hugh later earned an Associate’s Degree in Fluid Hydraulics from Gateway Technical College. He was employed with AMC/Chrysler Corp., before retiring in 2010.
Hugh was an original member of the Body Shop and worked there through the early years of Atlas Gym, as powerlifting was his life. He held numerous state and national records in various weight classes, even shattering records while undergoing chemotherapy. Hugh coached and trained many people, some becoming national champions, including a world champion. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks and Minnesota Vikings fan.
Hugh will be sadly missed but remembered for his stories, jokes, tell it like he saw it attitude, stubbornness, relentlessness, as well as, his honesty and work ethic. He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann; two brothers, Clay Perone and Dominic Perone Jr; as well as, many close family members, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services/Time of sharing will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, WI. Private inurnment will be held.
