She was born June 9, 1930 to the late Joseph and Valeria (Wojciechowska) Strusky. She graduated from Mary D. Bradford in 1949.
She worked at Nash until her marriage to Alvin Albert Wienke on November 7, 1951 at St. Casimir Catholic Church.
Helen was a stay at home mom for nine years raising her children. She returned to work in 1962 at Intermatic Corporation in Spring Grove, IL; retiring in August of 1992.
She enjoyed painting and her china classes. She was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bristol where she gave of her time and talents over the years. She was a 4-H Leader for 15 years. She taught Polish and Ukrainian Easter Egg Design.
Helen is survived by her four children, Louise Halvorson, Carol (Royce) Strickland, Thomas (Christine) Wienke and Pauline (Michael) Russell. She also survived by one sister, Gladys (Roger) Borggren; twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four nieces and one nephew.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Alvin on August 30, 1992, a son, James, great granddaughter, Alyssa and a son in law, David.
Service Date February 20, 2016
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 18700 116th Street, Bristol. Interment will follow in St. Scholastica Cemetery in Bristol.
