Helen was born in Bristol on January 20, 1931 to the late O. Ray and Ellen (Rasmussen) Winfield. She was united in marriage to Russell D. Gillmore on July 28, 1951 in Kenosha. Sadly, he preceded her in death in 1992.
Helen had been employed for many years as a secretary for her husband’s business, Gillmore Insurance of Bristol. She enjoyed gardening and was a great cook (she was especially known for her banana and pumpkin bread). But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Gary (Diane) of Highwood, IL and Dale (Kathy) of Lindenhurst, IL; her grandchildren, Timothy, Kevin, Elaine, and Dean Gillmore; four sisters, Ruth Gillmore of Viroqua, WI , Elsie Anderson of Nevada, MO, Margaret Risi of Antioch, IL; Jean (Jack) Heick of Elkader, IA; and one brother, Richard (Edna Mae) Winfield of MO. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville and George Winfield.
Private interment will take place in South Bristol Cemetery. A memorial celebration in honor of Helen will take place at a later date.
