Born in Tigerton, WI on March 4, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Adolf and Emily (Martin) Mattner.
On July 5, 1952 in Waukegan, IL, she was united in marriage to Dale Strange. In 1970, they moved to Kenosha making it their new home. After 52 years of marriage, Dale preceded her in death on January 14, 2004.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church and the Disabled American Veterans Women’s Auxiliary Chapter #20. Hattie was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star #92 and the Kenosha Friendly Center.
Hattie was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid crafter who loved attending various craft fairs.
She will be remembered by her children, John (Teri) Strange of West Bend, Mary (Mark) Roberts of Kenosha, Kathy Lytle of Kenosha, Barbara (Larry) Ancona of Pleasant Prairie and Diane (Dennis) Willis of Greenville, NC; a brother, Ernie Mattner of AZ; eleven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Floyd Lytle; and six brothers.
Hattie’s family would to thank Compassionate Care Hospice, Jennifer Sizemore and Mia Askew for the exceptional love and care they provided.
Funeral Services honoring Hattie’s life will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church, 2001 80th Street. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
