Born in Gragnano (Lucca) on February 12, 1921, he was the son of the late Dr. Francesco and Ada (Pellicci) Franceschini.
He graduated from the University of Milano, Italy with a law degree.
In 1948 he moved from Italy to Argentina. In 1949 he married Bianca Del Dotto and in 1955 they came to the United States residing first in Chicago and then settling in Kenosha and Somers in 1960. Sadly Bianca preceded him in death in 2005.
Jointly with his wife, he owned and operated the original Kenosha Travel Service and then Global Travel Services.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #973 and Kenosha Rotary Club where he was the oldest surviving member. Kenosha Rotary honored George by presenting him with the Rotary International’s distinguished Paul Harris Fellowship.
He is survived by three sons, Alberto, Carlo and Mark (Francesca) Franceschini; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Bianca; his daughter in law, Linda Franceschini (wife of Alberto Franceschini) and his two sisters in Italy.
Service Date September 21, 2018
Funeral Services honoring George’s life will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 2224 30th Avenue, Kenosha, WI. Private interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
