Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintGeorge D. Chart, Jr. 69, of La Crosse, WI and formerly of Kenosha, WI passed away on December 29, 2024, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester, St. Mary’s Campus. He was born on January 4, 1955, in Kenosha, WI to Ann M. and George D. Chart, Sr.
He attended St. Anthony Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph High School in Kenosha in 1973. He later earned a certificate in Production Welding from Gateway Technical College. George worked for 20 years tending bar for the family business, Timber Ridge Bar and Restaurant. He also worked in Quality Control for Tri-Clover of Pleasant Prairie for 18 years and 10 years for TRW of Galesville, WI.
In January of 1996 he married Patricia Conely and together they owned and operated The Chart Room in Adams, WI. They sold the business in November of 1998 and moved to La Crosse, WI. They were divorced in March of 2000.
George enjoyed photography and had a love for fishing. He was Regional Vice President for the S.E. Wisconsin Muskie Hunters, a chapter of Muskies Inc. He was able to travel to attend International Board meetings and met and made friends with many people involved in the fishing industry. He also produced the “Inside Fishing” show for Kenosha Community Access with Lance Joaquin as the host. The show won a National Award for the “Best Sports Series in the Nation” in 1993. He fished in many muskie tournaments with friends Bryan and Ron Betzner, Leroy Peterson and Ray Ellis. Along with Ray, they twice won the High Falls/Caldron Falls Muskie Tournament and took second once. He was also a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #286 in Kenosha.
George is survived by his stepson, Erik Glass, many cousins and friends. His father, George passed in 1958; his brother, James passed in 1980; his mother, Ann passed in 1994 and his stepfather, John Johanowicz passed in 2017.

A visitation for George will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time the service at 11:00 a.m. at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services-La Crosse, 200 West Ave S, La Crosse, WI 54601.
Inurnment will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in St. George Cemetery.
