Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintGenevieve “Gen” Mieczkowski, age 89, of Kenosha, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus.
Born on September 10, 1925 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Wallie and Mary (Laskowski) Ronzia.
“Gen” attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. She then attended the Art Institute of Chicago.
On February 15, 1947, she was united in marriage to Casimir “Kaz” Mieczkowski at St Anthony Catholic Church. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage before Kaz died on May 3, 1998.
She was employed in the art department at Samuel Lowe Company prior to her marriage. Following the birth of her children, she became a homemaker.
Genevieve was a proud member of St. Mary Catholic Church for over 65 years.
She was involved in all areas of crafting as well as enjoying gardening and cooking.
Genevieve is survived by her two children, Daniel (Patti Pooch) Mieckowski and Diana (Mark) McCarthy; her loving granddaughter, Emma Marie McCarthy and her brother, Edward (Rita) Ronzia.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Zigmund, Walter and Bruno Grabowski and a sister, Helen in infancy.
The family would like to thank ”Dr.Mike” Zeihen for his many years of care also the staff of Brookside Care Center for their patience and support throughout Genevieve’s illness.
Service Date June 16, 2015
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7400 39th Ave. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery.
