Gaylester Lockridge, age 87, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Froedtert South-Pleasant Prairie.
Born in Tupelo, MS on July 15, 1933, he was the son of Melbon and Martha Lockridge.
In Chicago, he married Charlene Monroe, who sadly preceded him in death. Over the years, Gaylester worked in a factory as a candy maker. He enjoyed watching television and collecting coins.
Gaylester is survived by his children, Sylvester Lockridge, Sharon Lockridge, Charles Lockridge, Cheryl Hopkins, and Walter Lockridge; his grandchildren, Quentin, Charlena, Sydney (Kay), Beatrice (Dee) Solomon and Rebecca, Jabari, Marvin (Connie), Brenda, Shavonney Martiz; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and in 2004, his daughter, Margery Lockridge.
Funeral services honoring Gaylester’s life will be held privately.
