Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintFrancis P. “Fran” Zuehlsdorf, age 92 of Kenosha, died at his home on Sunday, February 15, 2015, with his loving wife by his side.
A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was born on November 27, 1922 and was the son of the late Henry and Anna (Pfaff) Zuehlsdorf. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.
During WWII, he honorably served our country in the U.S. Marines.
On January 26, 1945 at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage to LaVerne J. Anthonsen.
For many years, he owned and operated Millar Insurance Agency. Fran was previously employed with the U.S. Postal Service.
Fran was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lions Club of Downtown Kenosha and the former Elks Lodge #750 in Kenosha. He enjoyed golfing, reading; especially mysteries and was an avid Packer fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, LaVerne Zuehlsdorf; his children, Alan Zuehlsdorf of Lake Geneva and Jan (Bill) Arneberg of Brookfield; his grandson, Scott Arneberg; his granddaughter, Sara (Christopher) Kaiser; and three great grandchildren, Julia Lucey-Arneberg, Carson Kaiser and Emma Kaiser.
Service Date February 19, 2015
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at the Piasecki Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, WI. Interment with full military honors will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
