Born in Stewartsville, MN on June 7, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Bessie (McClellan) Etmanczyk. She attended Racine schools and was a graduate of Horlick High School.
On May 27, 1939 in Racine, she was united in marriage to Raphael “Ray” Rice. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1993.
Prior to her marriage, Fran was employed with Eisdendrath Tannery in Racine. After her marriage, she was employed for 15 years with Bernacchi Drug Store and 7 years with Thrift Drug Store, retiring in 1972.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and had served as a coordinator of the Trinity Seniors. Frances was also a member of the Pike Eastern Star Chapter #285 where she served as Worthy Matron, Kenosha Eastern Star Chapter #92, Messiah Shrine #19 where she had served as High Priestess and Faith Shrine #23.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Dale Rice; three grandsons, Kenneth (Jennifer), Michael and Jason Rice; and three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Paige and Ayden Rice.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald and Charles Rice; three brothers, Harry, Herman, and Clair Etmanczyk; and her sister, June Demske.
Service Date December 2, 2016
Funeral Services honoring Frances’ life will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 7104-39th Ave., Kenosha, WI. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
