Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintEugene J. Covelli, Sr., age 76, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI.
Born in Kenosha, on January 23, 1941, he was the son of the late Louis and Emily (Pellegrino) Covelli.
Eugene was united in marriage to Betty Wermske on September 5, 1959, at St. Mark Catholic Church. They were blessed with three children and 57 years of marriage.
He was employed with Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC) for 33 years, working as a millwright and retired in 1998.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 491. He liked fishing and hunting and owned his own taxidermy business. Eugene enjoyed building and constructing things.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Betty; his three children, Eugene Covelli, Jr. of Burlington, Theresa (Steve) Swisher of Kenosha and Tammy Covelli of Kenosha; 8 grandchildren, Joshua Covelli, Jacob Swisher, Bethany Swisher, Zachary Swisher, Nicholas Koslica, Eugene Covelli, III, Ashley McCumber and Cecelia McCumber and nine great grandchildren, Nadia, Nico, Nash, Caleb, Atali, Aubrei, Gianna, Jayden and Jeremiah with one more on the way.
Eugene is further survived by his brother, Ralph (Peggy) Covelli and many loving nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
Eugene’s family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. James Santarelli and Janneane for the compassionate care they provided.
Service Date March 16, 2017
Funeral Services honoring Eugene’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, WI. Entombment will be held on Friday, March 17th at 9:00 a.m. in All Saints Mausoleum.
