Born in Kenosha on February 5, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Julie (Domalik) Leszkowicz.
She attended St. Casimir Elementary School.
In October, 1947, she was united in marriage to Edwin Despins. After 43 years of marriage, Edwin preceded her in death in 1990.
Esther was employed as a seamstress with Coopers/Jockey International.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Cooper Club.
Esther was a dedicated volunteer at St. Catherine’s Hospital. She liked to garden, sew and bake. Esther’s pies were the best and she enjoyed sharing them with her family and friends. Most of all, Esther enjoyed being with her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her sister, Lillian (Phil) Romanowski; her nephews, Kelly (Donna) Mullaly, Jeff (Ulle) Romanowski, Jerry Romanowski and Jack Romanowski; and her nieces, Lori (Mark) Albert and Renee (Don) Romanowski-Parker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Mullaly.
Service Date September 22, 2016
Funeral Services honoring Esther’s life will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. Interment will follow in St. Casimir Cemetery.
