On August 19, 1961, he married his “Dear” Dorothea Bossingham and they spent 63 wonderful years together. He called her “My Love,” and this term of endearment fueled their spark for each other they raised their family.
Ervin proudly served his country as a transport operator in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. As a skilled woodworker, he spent much of his free time creating family treasures such as tables and chairs, as well as beautiful worship furniture pieces which can still be found proudly displayed at his church. His competitive spirit would find him cheering on his Green Bay Packers and playing BINGO every Wednesday and Thursday at the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286.
