She was born on April 22, 1938 in Kenosha, a daughter of the late Alex and Christina (Ferraro) Tarsitano.
She attended local schools and was a 1958 graduate of Mary D. Bradford.
On April 11, 1959 at Our Lady of the Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to William M. Michel; they were blessed with three children and 58 years together.
Her employment started at Warwick Manufacturing, then American Motors, John’s Manville Roofing Company and later returned to Chrysler; retiring on December 31, 1999.
Emilia was a member of Italian American Ladies Auxiliary and UAW Local #72 Retirees. She enjoyed her trips to Disney World with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, William; her children, Mary (Barry) Michel-Egolf, Suzanne (Brad) Evans and William (Katherine) Michel II; her grandchildren, Christine Evans, Alexandria Egolf, John Evans, William Michel III and Tyler and Andrew Michel along with her sister, Josephine Pavlovich and her brother, Alex (Kathy) Tarsitano.
Along with her parents, Emilia was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Dinges and a brother, Ralph Tarsitano.
Service Date July 7, 2018
Funeral services honoring the life of Emilia will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018; beginning with a prayer service at 10:15 at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue, Kenosha, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919-54th St. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery.
