Born on February 13, 1922, in Escanaba, MI, he was the son of the late John and Alice (Hurtubise) Beaumier. Kenosha became his home and he graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School and attended UW Madison.
Elward proudly served our country during WW II in the U. S. Airforce where he flew 34 combat missions until his honorable discharge in 1945. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1948 until 1952.
On July 5, 1952, at St. Mark Catholic Church, he married Elizabeth Englemann. They were blessed with 8 children and 63 years of marriage.
He was employed at Eaton Dynamatic Company from 1969 until his retirement in 1988.
A member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Elward was very religious and charitable. He volunteered his time and talents for the church festivals and for the Marytown Franciscan Brothers festivals. Elward was very outgoing. He would walk into a room as a stranger and leave as a friend. Elward enjoyed music, playing the piano, fixing things, and model trains; especially attending train shows. He also cherished his Friday visits at the American Heroes Café with his fellow veterans. He will be remembered a kind and loving husband father and grandfather.
In his younger years he was a member of the Holy Name Society and a member of the St. Joseph High School Athletic Association. He was recently inducted in the St. Joe’s Hall of Fame.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Elizabeth, his children, John (Robin) Beaumier of Kenosha, Rosemary (Thomas) Homs of Mt. Pleasant, Raymond Beaumier of Columbus, OH, Marie (Michael) Bonell of Germantown, TN, Joseph Beaumier of Seattle, WA, Francis Beaumier of Kenosha, James (Beverly) Beaumier of Algona, IA and Louise (Rudy) Caracciolo of Kenosha along with 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Elward is further survived by three sisters, Rose Alice Morris of Racine, Muriel (Delvin) Durbin of Kenosha and Anna Belle (David) Ralph of Kenosha and a dear friend, Karl Case.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Claramae Minkey; two half-brothers, Roland and Wallace Nantell, a half-sister, Noella Curtiss and a daughter in law, Sara Beaumier.
Service Date December 14, 2015
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4817 7th Ave. Interment will follow with full military honors in St. George Cemetery.
