She was born in Kenosha on June 26, 1927, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Molinaro) Cosentino.
On September 11, 1948, Elsie was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart and love of her life, William J. “Willie” Scuglik, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. They recently celebrated 70 years together.
She was employed at Johnson Bank for 24 years before retiring as Assistant Cashier.
She was a member of the Rosary Society at St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Senior Center where she played bridge. She was also in a pinochle club with friends since 1955. Elsie was a wonderful baker creating traditional Italian and Slovak treats which she loved to share with everyone. For many years she loved going to the family’s summer home up north in Wildrose, WI.
She was an avid reader, devouring several books a month.
Elsie’s family and her faith was her life and she unselfishly gave of herself to all who needed her.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 70 years, William Scuglik; her daughter, Sharon (Peter) Scuglik-Simo, a step grandson, Nicholas Simo, and many loving nieces, nephews and family and friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor “Babe” Wells and brothers, Robert, Peter and Dante in infancy.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire Hospice Alliance, Inc. staff; especially, Joann Lomo and Becca Primer; her niece, Mary Margaret Clary, and Vickie Stehlik and Maggie Dowse for the loving care and respect they provided.
